Jamie began his financial services career in 2001 with HSBC having graduated from the University of Cardiff. He has since worked for three independent firms before establising JWA Financial Planning in April 2009.
He is a Fellow of the CII and is also a Chartered Financial Planner placing him amongst the most highly qualified financial planners in the UK. Jamie also holds the CII Long Term Care, Lifetime mortgages, Advanced Tax & Trusts and Advanced Pensions qualifications. This breadth and depth of knowledge means that Jamie delivers a secure, strategic and joined up financial plan for his clients.
Jamie is passionate of the power of Financial Planning (as distinct from product related financial advice) and the positive impact it can have on client’s lives. He is a member of the Professional Finance Society.
Jamie is married to Leanne, who is an English Teacher at a comprehensive school in Cardiff, and they have two children. Amongst Jamie's other passions are cycling, football, rugby, swimming and keeping fit.
Keith has worked for 25 years in business management, operating at board level and with international experience. After studying Cybernetics at University in 1972 Keith embarked on a career in the electronics industry working with a diverse range of American and European companies.
In 1991 Keith led an MBO to create an information systems business focused on Transportation technology. Keith served the business as Managing Director and through the 90’s recession the business enjoyed steady and profitable growth to become the UK’s leader in its sector. In 2005 when the business was acquired by a leading UK technology company Keith joined the board of that company where he served for some years as Commercial Director before retiring to join JWA Financial Planning.
Keith looks after the business and operational aspects of the practice where his experience is helping to shape JWA for a successful future.
Keith is married to Eileen and is father to Jamie, Nic, Rachel and Robert. His interests are country walking, music and art.
Rachel entered the financial services industry in 2005 when she joined an independent mortgage brokerage and over a number of years gained a broad knowledge of the mortgage market and extensive experience in mortgage administration.
She subsequently continued her career development with two of the UK's foremost Pension & Investment companies before joing JWA in 2011. Rachel holds CeMAP & CeFA quallifications and in 2021 she achieved her Diploma in Financial Planning.
Rachel now heads up our Financial Planning team but continues to use her long experience of mortgages and continues to provide advice to clients specialising in Equity Release, commercial and and other more complex mortgages.
Rachel has two young daughters who are very keen on gymnastics and netball. When not racing around to afterschool activities, they all love nothing more than country walks with their dog, Willow, a sweet but crazy little Whippet.
Rob graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea in 2009, obtaining a BSc Honours degree in Business Management, specialising in Finance.
He moved to London and became an Estate Agent, gaining his property experience with leading London practices before returning to Wales and joining JWA Financial Planning in 2012.
Rob is a highly experienced mortgage and protection adviser.
Rob lives in Cardiff and is a devoted father to his little boy. Outside of work, he likes to spend his time with his son, Jude and his wider family, and during his spare time, he is a keen football fan and an avid follower of Manchester United.
He enjoys being active, walking in the countryside, playing golf (occasionally) and when possible travelling and exploring Europe.
Sion has worked in Financial Services for over 10 years. Sion has worked in various advisory and professional support roles, after being a personal trainer and fitness instructor for 5 years previous. More recently, Sion worked as a Regional Business Consultant for one of the major insurance companies in the UK, Vitality.
Lifestyle financial planning is Sion’s speciality meaning he does not look at clients in a transactional way. Instead, he advises clients as a financial planner, this ensures his clients get the best opportunity to achieve their financial goals through strategic financial planning. Sion gives cradle to grave advice covering pensions, investments, protection and estate planning.
Sion is married to his wife Hannah and has two children: Logan and Mille. To top off their busy household they also have a husky, Nanook, a bulldog, Fleur, a dachshund, Winston, along with two rabbits, Thumper and Honey. Sion is a junior rugby coach for his local rugby team, Gorseinon. Sion also enjoys playing tennis at his local club and long distance running when time permits. He also has strong ties with environmental preservation projects, often partaking in volunteer work.
Working within Financial Services since 2007 as a Paraplanner/Business Development also holding a Certificate in Mortgage Advice. Flory's experience is within various sectors of the sector; Banking, Mortgages, Independent Financial Advice, Assurance.
Currently working alongside the Financial Advisers, Flory feels privileged to start her new career with JWA Financial Planning since joing us in June 2021.
Flory is married to Jon, who is main reason that she moved to Wales. They have two children and 2 have recently added a new Great Dane puppy to the family, Hercules.
Flory used to play Volleyball for Dinamo Bucharest and is very passionate about foreign languages, fashion, travelling, cross culture, socialising, history and arts.
Flory started out as a catwalk model in 1990 and travelled across Europe for 10 years. At the age of 24, Flory moved into the Tourism sector as a Guest Relations Manager in a holiday resort in Antalya, Turkey, followed by a role in a private medical clinic as an Assistant Manager in Bucharest, Romania.
Vicki began her career in financial services in 1998, starting off at the Halifax and moving on to standard life supporting IFA’s and gaining her financial planning qualifications. In 2004, Vicki moved into mortgage advising working both within estate agency and smaller independent advisor firms.
Vicki has established herself as a mortgage and protection expert with a vast amount of experience in this field and always strives to provide an excellent service for her clients, supporting them every step of the way for both residential and investment properties and is passionate about ensuring her clients have the best cover in place to protect them selves should life take an unfortunate turn.
Vicki has a wealth of experience in helping clients obtain mortgages with complex needs and specializes in helping the self-employed navigate the mortgage market to achieve their property goals.
Vicki lives in Leicestershire with her partner Alan and 2 children, who keep her busy with their many activities. During her free time she loves to go for walks in the fantastic country parks Charnwood has to offer and meet up with friends to enjoy good food and shared laughter.
Emma has over 24 years experience in Financial Services. Her career began in Mortgage Administration with the National and Provincial Building Society and through subsequent mergers she also worked for Abbey National and Santander bank.
Emma enjoys being part of the JWA team, working closely with our advisers and applying her long experience to helping our client’s though their mortgage journey. Emma holds a certificate in Financial Planning certificates and also the CeMAP qualification in Mortgage Advice.
Outside of work Emma loves spending time with her husband Carl and her children Kobe and Thea whose passions are the sports of taekwondo and kick boxing. Many a weekend is spent at competitions both in the UK and abroad and the family quite often bring home a medal or two!
Emma and her family live in Penarth and very much enjoy this seaside town with it’s lovely walks, restaurants and of course shops, where she can very often be found.
Karen entered the Financial Services industry at HSBC nearly 20 years ago. Her career began in Financial Planning Administration, based at HSBC Head Offices in Carmarthen, Swansea and finally Cardiff. She then moved into a customer facing senior branch role, being the first point of contact for new mortgage clients at the branch.
Karen then moved into the mortgage industry two years ago as a Mortgage Administrator for another IFA.
Karen enjoys being part of the JWA team and working closely with our advisers, applying her vast experience to helping our clients through their mortgage journey.
Karen holds a CertRBCB and is studying for her CeMAP qualification in Mortgage Advice.
Karen is married to Gareth, a retired Police Officer from Cardiff. She has a grown up son Samuel , who has now flown the nest.
Karen's main interests are football and rugby. Following Swansea City FC and Cardiff Blues. She loves to potter in her garden and she enjoys walks on the mountain near her home in Taffs Well. When she has time off, she likes to spends most of her time at her second home in South East Spain.
Tim left University in 1999 with a degree in Political Theory, he initially entered the corporate world before becoming a financial adviser in 2004 through Britannia Building society. Tim went independent in 2010, since then Tim has developed into being a general practitioner helping his clients in all aspects of financial planning. Tim has worked through two Independent Financial Adviser firms before joining JWA financial Planning.
Tim’s pleasure in giving financial advice is in the relationship that develops between adviser and client, this helps develop a deep understanding of a client’s aspirations and fears ensuring that recommendations fully meet a client’s needs. Tim is passionate in maintaining his independence and ensuring that his client’s needs are met on a bespoke basis and not shoe horned into generalist solutions.
Tim is married to Kate an Ecologist based in Cardiff they have a young daughter who has just started school and two enormous dogs. His interests are Cricket, Real Tennis (if you don’t know about it ask me, its fantastic!) Dog walking in the country and travel.
Suzanne graduated from Plymouth University with a BSc (Hons) in Sociology with Social Policy and largely worked in the Voluntary sector until 2012. After having her two children Suzanne ventured into the Financial Planning sector and has been providing administrative support to Financial Adviser - Tim Turley since 2015.​
Suzanne joined JWA with Tim in 2018.
From her background in the Voluntary sector, Suzanne is passionate about providing people with fair and honest advice and support and equipping people to make informed choices. Suzanne serves as a Magistrate locally - a role in which she has a great interest in.​
Suzanne enjoys running, travelling and walking in the countryside. She is married to Dan who works in Further Education. They have two daughters and five hens.
Siobhan began her career in the Telecoms and Utilities industry and following a relocation from the North East of England she progressed into a construction company and co-ordinated a team of Engineers in the installation of utilities into new housing developments across the UK. After having a career break to bring up her two young children she ventured into Financial Planning Administration in 2017. Siobhan joined JWA in 2020 to provide Administration Support to Independent Financial Advisor, Tim Turley, and works alongside Suzanne Coles.
Siobhan is a skilled administrator with a number of years’ experience in the utilities and financial sector bringing a wealth of business administration knowledge and transferable organisational skills and prides herself in being a natural communicator with a strong work ethic.
Siobhan is married to Duncan with two children, Eleanor and Oliver, who both enjoy playing sports, in particular junior football and both play in the Cardiff & District League in which Siobhan coaches and co-ordinates for their teams in a voluntary capacity. Siobhan enjoys following her hometown football team, Darlington FC, although doesn’t get to stand on the terraces as much as she would like. Siobhan is also a hands-on volunteer at her children’s Primary School Parent and Friends Association and enjoys fundraising in many ways for the school. Siobhan has a keen love for running. having completed Cardiff Half Marathon for a number of years, as well as the iconic Great North Run and London Marathon. Any spare time that she does happen to have is spent with her family travelling around the UK with their touring caravan named ‘Suzie’.
Colin enterered the Financial Services industry in 2010 and joined New Leaf Distribution as an Authorised Representative after achieving his CeMAP and CeRER qualifications to act as a mortgage and equity release adviser. After eight years with New Leaf, he joined forces with Poppyred IFA in a client supporting role in addition to advising on protection and general insurance products before recently transferring to JWA.
Colin provides advice to business and personal clients in his specialised area of protection and general insurance products.
Colin lives in Surrey and has been married to his school-teacher wife, Caroline, for over 37 years. He enjoys sharing his spare time on the golf course along with performing has grandfatherly duties to his two young grandchildren and a very demanding cocker spaniel.
Dan began in Financial Services in 1995 with Bank of Scotland, before returning to his village in Australia to undertake a Diploma in Financial Planning in 2003 and Certified Financial Planner Diploma in 2005. He returned to the UK in 2010 for reasons of family and the nicer weather, completing a Masters in Financial Planning in 2016.
Dan is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment institute which is a global body supporting financial services professionals. He also holds authorisation with an Australian financial services licencee, enabling him to specialise in financial advice for British expats living in Australia and Australian expats living in the UK. This unique role sees him visit Australia during the year to keep up to date with local best practice and to meet clients, when possible. Dan advocates using cashflow modelling and Zoom meetings to ‘visit’ clients when travelling isn’t possible or required.
Dan is married with two adult children and enjoys a quiet life in the country in his garden, when not travelling. He loves running to think, drinking coffee with friends and family at his ‘local’ and bbq’ing in remote places in winter. What else do you expect from an Aussie?
Lesley left school to do a Business Studies Diploma, while also studying German at a higher level and on into the ‘University of Life’. She has had a varied career from working in Germany and for various German/Austrian companies in the UK, to customer service roles in Australia, before stepping into the financial services industry as administrative support in 2007.
A stickler for spelling and punctuation, Lesley is the ‘back office’ and book-keeping support for Dan Collins.
Lesley emigrated to Australia in 1997, having met Dan while travelling in the early 90s. They relocated to the UK to live in 2010 with their two children - now young adults - to help care for Lesley’s elderly Mum.
When not cooking up a gluten free storm in her kitchen, she enjoys walking in the countryside, visiting different places and sampling the delights of coffee, with a rummage in a charity shop or two along the way. Lesley is environmentally conscious and enjoys upcycling projects; her motto being ‘waste not, want not’ and living by her late Mum’s adage: “never spend a penny where an ha'penny will do”.
Julia graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea with a joint honours in French, German and Business Studies.
She joined BDO Stoy Hayward in Reading as a graduate trainee before moving to BMW Financial Services as a treasury accountant.
Julia supports the team in accounts and financial reporting.
She is married to Paul, a sales director for a ship repair company, and they have 3 children. In her spare time, Julia enjoys exercising at the gym or being on the beach with her family and their dogs.
Meghan entered the financial services industry in 2017.
Meghan works with our clients in the many aspects of administration for their pensions and investments.
Outside of work Meghan loves spending time with her partner Huw and their son Carter. During their free time they enjoy going on country walks in their home town with their dog Maggie.
Meghan has played netball for South East Wales and Welsh Hub Netball team. She was also a British Champion in Ballroom dancing and has represented Wales on many of occasions.
